A small shop with a reasonable stock of yarns, including the Dutch brand Scheepjes.  Also stocks haberdashery, and does clothes alterations.

Cahirciveen is on the main tourist route in Kerry, the Ring of Kerry, and there are always a lot of tourists and holidaymakers around in the summertime. It’s  on the way into town, from the Glenbeigh direction, and is just before the main shopping street, and might be passed by!

Cushendale Woollen Mills is one of the oldest woollen mills in full operation in Ireland. A family run business, they continue to produce quality 100% Irish made products in natural fibres including brushed mohair, bouclé mohair, Irish wool, lambswool and cotton chenille, remaining true to the tradition of using natural fibres and eco-friendly production processes.

Irish wool knitting yarn is produced in a flexible range of colours. Fabric lengths of any or their products are available.

The Yarn Room, selling at Dunlaoghaire People’s Park Market on Sundays. I am also willing to bring my mobile shop to knitting groups.

Stocking Debbie Bliss (Cashmerino DK, Aran, Chunky and Astrakhan, Cotton DK, Preu Cotton and Pure Silk) Louisa Harding (Nautical Cotton and Grace Silk and Wool), Noro Kureyon, Artesano Hummingbird and DK, Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend, and some Tivoli cottons. I also have a range of Brittany Birch Needles and Addi Needles. Also a good selection of pattern and knitting related books, as well as some pattern sheets for the Artesano Yarns. The prices on the website include postage within Ireland.

In addition to wool, I have some felting materials and tools.

Now selling wool…mainly Patons and Tivoli. They also brought in knitting needles and crochet hooks and other haberdashery for the craft, including patterns. Hickey’s is fabulous for fabric, but now that they’ve added a wool section, even a small one, is just great.

The Book Depot, Killarney Outlet Centre, Killarney, Co. Kerry

They sell a very small amount of eyelash yarn only, some knitting and crochet kits, occasionally knitting/crochet books.

It Must Be Dingle, Main Street, Dingle, Co. Kerry

We are not exactly sure of the name of this shop, but there is a craft shop (crafts by local artisans) on Main Street which sells hand spun and hand dyed wool, basic colors in 100 gram hanks. Very expensive!

The Sweater Shop on Green Street, just off Grey’s Lane, Dingle, Co. Kerry

Has a basket or two of balls of Kerry Wool. It’s mostly natural colors but nice stuff.

Cork Crafts, Paul Street Arcade, Cork City.

This shop sells a small selection of crochet thread and a good selection of tapestry wool, mainly for their needlepoint canvases. Also a good bead selection, latchhook rugs kits, notions and some hooks and needles. They’re mainly a great notions shop for add-ons for knitting and crochet.

An Soiga, Green Street (between Grey’s Lane and Main Street), Dingle, Co Kerry.

This is a clothing store that sells mostly original design knitted sweaters and specialty items, but has a small selection of Tivoli yarn in the back of the shop, including a rack of knitting needles and crochet hooks.
