National Knitting Week

National Knitting Week 2007, in aid of Ireland’s Simon Communities who house and feed Ireland’s homeless. National Knitting Week Ireland runs from 13-21 October 2007 and we are asking all knitters to knit hats and scarves for the Simon Community volunteers to hand out in winter to Ireland’s homeless. We are organising drop off points throughout Ireland where you can hand in your knitted hats and scarves and you can sign up here to receive regular updates on events, venues and your tally.

Co. Kerry-It Must Be Dingle

It Must Be Dingle, Main Street, Dingle, Co. Kerry

We are not exactly sure of the name of this shop, but there is a craft shop (crafts by local artisans) on Main Street which sells hand spun and hand dyed wool, basic colors in 100 gram hanks. Very expensive!

Co. Cork-Cork Crafts

Cork Crafts, Paul Street Arcade, Cork City.

This shop sells a small selection of crochet thread and a good selection of tapestry wool, mainly for their needlepoint canvases. Also a good bead selection, latchhook rugs kits, notions and some hooks and needles. They’re mainly a great notions shop for add-ons for knitting and crochet.

In addition to the factory shop, but they also have a store in Dingle by the same name. They sell mainly garments but also sell their spun wool in the back of the shop. They sell 200 grams hanks at really reasonable prices.
